Since last season, our cultural program has been enriched with a new artistic cycle – Art sredica, which weaves together music, contemporary dance, poetry and visual arts… It is an attractive and lively project intended for lovers of various artistic genres. During this year’s Art sredica which takes place one Wednesday a month over a three-month period, we promise many intimate, pleasant, and exciting sound and visual sensations. The following three artistic events involving music and poetry will be included in the program:

    Brina
    The desire for a free, fresh, and daring musical ensemble led to the creation of the Brina Group. The ensemble, established in 2003, is named after the singer Brina Vogelnik. The group is composed of six musicians and draws on motifs from traditional folk music as well as repertory based on songs that are written by the singer, Brina, and her mother, Eka. The group has put out two CDs, Mlado leto [Young year] and Pasja legenda [Dog legend], which put them on the musical map. The group’s members are:

    Nino de Gleria, electric bass, contrabass
    Drago Ivanuša, accordion
    Luka Ropret, guitars
    Julij Zornik, sound

  • 21st November 2007 at 8.15 pm
    Mala dvorana, Nova Gorica Cultural Centre
    Vida Mokrin - Pauer
    A recital of positive poetry and musical mischief (released by Osho’s meditation) written by the poet, Vida Mokrin-Pauer, who has published thirteen books and CDs. The program will feature musical guests for added enjoyment.

    Etnoploč trio
    Three exceptional musicians have gathered under the name of the Ethno-Ploč Trio: Aleksander Ipavec – Ipo (accordion), Piero Purini – Puribegovič (saxophone), and Matej Špacapan (trumpet). At the end of last year, the trio put out its first CD featuring a selection of original compositions and songs from the folk traditions of the former Yugoslavia entitled Pre…prosto / Semplicemente… troppo liberi. The time has come to present this trio in Nova Gorica.
