The Slowind Ensemble is composed of wind instrumentalists – soloists of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. The Brass Quintet, which pays much attention to the performance of modern music, is one of the leading Slovene groups of this kind. By performing modern pieces of music, it has hosted numerous domestic and foreign festivals and concerts, while in Ljubljana it has been organising its own cycle of chamber concerts – the Slowind Festival. On the occasion of this concert, Italian pianist Andrea Rucli will join the quartet. Andrea Rucli finished his piano studies at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, and has improved his skills by attending master classes led by the famous Russian pianist Konstantin Bogin. the programme, the musicians have also included a piece of music by Nina Šenk, one of the best composers of the young generation, who has won many awards for her works of art; recently, in May 2008, she was awarded the prestigious first prize at the Weimar Festival of Contemporary Music.
